Why I'm Supporting Take The Lead This Father's Day

When my thirteen-year-old daughter posed this question about construction signage one day as we were driving to the store, it inspired a series of father-daughter conversations about gender roles, discrimination, women who work, and men who stay home to raise kids (like me).Vincent and DaughtersAs a stay-at-home father and writer, it was natural for me to capture these conversations on paper, and post them on the blog of one of my favorite non-profit groups: Take The Lead.Take The Lead provides daily inspiration for those of us who are working hard to make sure our daughters are free to pursue their dreams, wherever their lives may lead. Take The Lead tackles the issues of gender parity straight-on, and provides the training, support, mentoring, and thought leadership that are so necessary to today’s younger generation. But Take The Lead cannot do this important work all alone. It takes the investment of all of us who care about creating a more equitable world for our children. As Father’s Day approaches, I invite you to join me in making a financial contribution to Take The Lead. Your tax-deductible gift of $25, $50, $100, or more will make the difference for the next generation – our daughters, sons, granddaughters, and grandsons.Your support will allow Take The Lead to advance its mission to prepare, develop, inspire and propel women to leadership parity across all sectors by 2025.Thanks in advance for helping Take The Lead help women everywhere.Happy Father’s Day,Vincent O’KeefeWriter, Stay-At-Home Dad, Ph.D.www.vincentokeefe.com
