Our Take The Lead Presents event series of facilitated speeches and panels features diverse leaders in nonprofit, government, and business sectors, presented in venues across the country and online. Play Hockey Like a Girl
In November 2014 the Arizona Coyotes and Take The Lead partnered for a lively panel discussion on women in sports leadership. Our diverse panelists—Nona Lee, Senior Vice President and General Counsel of the Arizona Diamondbacks; Sierra Blair-Coyle, Professional Rock Climber; Debbie Waitkus, President and Founder of Golf for Cause; and Sage Steele, ESPN Anchor and Host of NBA Countdown—represented many ways women are taking the lead in the sports world, and they shared their insights, personal stories, and keys to success. The Lady Coyotes, the only female hockey team in Arizona, joined the event as special guests, and all attendees received tickets to the men’s Coyotes game afterwards.
Career Coaches Give Their Hot Tips
In October 2014 we joined forces with sustainable jeweler Alex & Ani for a night of shopping, purposeful networking, great giveaways, and hot tips from some of New York City’s leading career coaches. The evening offered attendees the chance to get upfront advice about their own career paths, navigating corporate politics, and more.

An Evening with Bestselling Author of The Confidence Code, Claire Shipman
Take The Lead hosted a private book signing and conversation with Claire Shipman, Senior National Correspondent for ABC’s Good Morning America and bestselling co-author of The Confidence Code: The Science and Art of Self-Assurance – What Women Should Know. Claire argued that women still lag behind in wages and workplace leadership because they are less confident than men, and in true Take The Lead fashion, she also discussed solutions to close that confidence gap.
