Social Media Team Leader
Take The Lead® is a nonprofit organization with the mission of intersectional gender parity in leadership across all sectors. The organization seeks a proactive and creative Social Media Team Leader to execute a comprehensive social media strategy to enhance our online presence, expand engagement, and drive conversions for our valuable leadership development resources, including courses, coaching, events, and masterminds. The role will involve creating and implementing content strategies across platforms, engaging with our community, and optimizing performance to achieve measurable list-building, engagement, and revenue results.
The right candidate will be a positive-spirited collaborator so that the social media, newsletter, and website deliver consistent messages. We aim to increase our newsletter subscribership from 14,000 to 100,000 within a year to have the minimum viable base for course sales and to secure more sponsors, which in turn will generate more revenue for the organization’s services and team growth.
Responsibilities
Content Strategy & Planning:
Lead the creation and execution of a proactive, cross-platform social media strategy aligned with TTL’s brand and business goals.
Own and manage the content planning process and editorial calendar for all social media channels.
Lead the team in developing platform-specific content strategies that align with the organization's long-term and immediate goals. In particular, collaborate with the editorial director and president to synergize content, events, and thought leadership issues.
Create or lead the development of content calendars and series that promote key offerings while ensuring consistent brand building.
Attend team meetings weekly to communicate, brainstorm, and collaborate with the leadership team.
Set, establish, monitor, and communicate metrics focusing on the outlined goals, allowing for adaptation as necessary.
Content Creation & Scheduling:
Develop and schedule 3-5 high-quality weekly posts (including graphics) for LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and Facebook.
Repurpose existing content (blogs, podcasts, YouTube videos) into engaging social media posts.
Create compelling, multi-format content (copy, graphics, animation, video).
Strategically repurpose or create YouTube shorts to TikTok for maximum engagement.
Assess the current state of YouTube presence and increase the use of YouTube viewership as a powerful platform
Repost content on Pinterest to our suite
Post articles and videos for the president on various platforms (Medium, Movement blog, LinkedIn, Substack)
Community Engagement:
Respond to comments and messages and engage with followers to build an active and supportive community (Review daily and respond in a timely manner, at least 2x times per week).
Foster conversations that encourage participation and sharing within our communities.
Content Optimization & Performance Analysis:
Track the performance of posts and optimize content based on analytics and feedback.
Provide weekly performance reports, highlighting key metrics and insights.
Lead monthly strategy meetings to adjust approaches based on performance and feedback, and be prepared to confer quickly when unanticipated events provide opportunities for Take The Lead’s thought leadership to have the most impact on the public conversation about women, power, and leadership.
Lead Magnet & Email Marketing Support:
Create lead magnets to capture new leads in collaboration with the team.
Support email marketing campaigns, including automation of email sales sequences, list segmentation, and tagging for personalized communications.
Reporting & Strategy Adjustments:
Provide regular reports on social media performance, audience engagement, and conversion metrics compared to goals.
Recommend adjustments to content and strategy based on ongoing performance analysis.
Qualifications
3+ years of work experience with Social Media Management
Strong understanding of social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, Threads, YouTube, TikTok, and BlueSky).
Strong graphic design and visual branding skills.
Experience with content creation, management, listening and scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Later).
Proven track record of developing and executing successful social media strategies.
Experience with using design and video editing software, including Capcut, Adobe, Canva, and on-platform editing and creation tools.
Knowledge of analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, platform insights).
Ability to engage effectively with online communities and drive discussions.
Ability to repurpose existing content creatively
Experience in supporting paid advertising campaigns and lead magnet creation is a plus.
Ability to maintain the Squarespace website and design for SEO is a plus, but not required.
Ability to supervise interns, volunteers, or other personnel, whose assistance will leverage your time.
Excellent communication skills.Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
Proactive and able to work independently while collaborating with others on the team for maximum results.
Proven experience in managing social media platforms for brands or organizations.
Creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box when developing content ideas, to see opportunities and execute quickly on them.
Familiarity with current trends in digital marketing and social media best practices.

A cohesive and consistent brand message across all platforms.An effective email marketing strategy that builds a valuable list for ongoing nurturing.
Contract Details:
Contract Term: An ongoing relationship is desired. The best work is done when people build relationships and work together for continuous improvement. Our contracts have a 30-day termination or resignation clause that either party can activate if circumstances call for it.
Estimated time commitment: 35–45 hours per month, with opportunity for growth as revenue increases. The time commitment may increase during specific campaigns or events and decrease during regular periods.
We prefer (but are not wedded to) a monthly retainer based on the responsibilities and objectives, with the understanding that the hours may fluctuate and that it is your responsibility to organize your time accordingly. As a consultant, you would manage your time to the agreed-upon deliverables and results.
