Girls in Tech Launches Phoenix Chapter!

Something big is happening this Thursday evening in downtown Phoenix. Something that with the right amount of passion and energy, could change the game for the girls and women of our community.

So just what is this something big? It is the official launch of the Phoenix chapter of Girls in Tech. Girls in Tech is a global organization based in San Francisco, with chapters in cities all over the world. It focuses on the education, mentorship, collaboration, promotion, growth and success of women in the technology sector. Girls in Tech Phoenix is looking to bring that same spirit of empowerment to girls and women in the Valley of the Sun.

To help ignite that passion, Take The Lead President Gloria Feldt will be on hand to put out the rally cry for the women of our community. Feldt is an author, activist and co-founder of the Take the Lead.  The mission of Take the Lead is congruent with the mission of Girls in Tech, and we are thrilled to partner in this effort.

According to Brittney Cunningham, managing director of GIT Phoenix, “Gloria is the perfect person to speak at our launch because she has been a long time advocate of women’s rights and is a champion of empowering women into leadership. We are excited about the timing of our launch since it coincides with the Take the Lead Challenge.

We hope you’ll join us on Thursday evening from 6:30-8:00pm at CO+HOOTS co-working space in downtown Phoenix to learn more about Girls in Tech Phoenix and Take The Lead.
