FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The nationally recognized DEI expert will provide actionable guidance on how to become a proactive supporter of racial and gender issues

NEW YORK, NY – September 11, 2020 – Take The Lead (https://www.taketheleadwomen.com), a nationally recognized non-profit whose mission is to achieve gender equality in leadership by 2025, today announced that Jennifer Brown, founder and CEO of Jennifer Brown Consulting, will be the featured speaker for its upcoming “Power to Change Conversations,” a webinar series devoted to offering substantive solutions to racism and gender inequality, on September 21 at 4 PM ET. Felicia Davis, a Take The Lead leadership ambassador, the facilitator of Take The Lead’s upcoming Academy for Advanced Leadership, and the founder of The Black Women’s Collective, is the host. Register here for the webinar: https://www.taketheleadwomen.com/events/conversation-02.

“Being a supporter is a much-talked topic now that racial and gender equity is at the forefront of conversation and action here in the United States,” says Davis. “Brown will offer immediately usable tips on being an effective ally, one who proactively contributes to change in a meaningful, forward-thinking manner.”

Among the questions Brown will address are:

- What is the role of white allies in the current social justice work within organizations?
- How should leaders best model inclusive and/or ally behaviors?
- What more can allies do?

“I am an admirer of Brown’s work, and having her on ‘Power to Change Conversations’ is a definite coup for Take The Lead and the webinar’s attendees,” says Gloria Feldt, the co-founder and president of Take The Lead. “I am also very appreciative of the fact that she is generously providing – without charge – the introduction and first chapter of her award-winning book ‘How to be an Inclusive Leader’ to all attendees.” The fee for the webinar is $50 for those who are employed and $25 for those who have been laid off or furloughed. The monies will allow Take The Lead to provide scholarships for women whose careers have been disrupted by the pandemic and could not otherwise participate in its programs.
